I’m a Hackney Native…

… based in the South West of England. A former teacher, edu-founder, RSA Fellow, Queen’s Young Leader (2015) and current Educational Psychologist.

My Work

I selectively freelance across five main areas:

Children: I facilitate children to be as happy as possible. This involves working to understand what is important to them and then developing holistic plans to support them to learn and develop.

Families: Parenting is hard, and all families go through challenges. I help parents and children to have more moments of positive connection and interaction. My approaches include: Narrative Therapy and using video to capture magical moments (Video Interaction Guidance).

Psychologists: I provide clinical supervision for individuals and groups. I also provide a range of training to help psychologists do their best work.

School: I work internationally to help schools to create the best possible learning environment. This involves therapeutic work with individual children, supervision and training for staff, coaching for leaders and systems design.

Social Change: I help organisations to understand and process the pressures of their work. I deliver training to help teams understand each other better and to achieve deep, lasting impact.

Boxing as an Intervention

In 2017/18 I completed a piece of qualitative research into young people’s experiences of taking part in boxing as an intervention.

Data was gathered by young people and coaches. Findings were organised into two chapters. One detailing participant’s developmental journey and another describing a range of beneficial processes.

I am now thinking about using movement more broadly as a transformative process.

The Psychology Elders Project

Since 2020 I have been interviewing Educational Psychologists with over 20 years experience.

So far this project has gathered over 340 years of combined experience - and the themes have implications for the next 20 years of our profession.

If you are interested in receiving training for your EPS or University training course, based upon this data, please get in touch.

Compassion x Suffering

In 2020 I was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to complete international research into how compassion can support caregiving.

In 2022 I spent a month in the USA completing interviews and observations of practice. I will be using data create a framework to support young caregivers in the UK.

I create a podcast

It features long form conversations, bringing an informal but informed psychological lens to topics you are blatantly interested in.

All with a thorough aversion to social media ego.
